Trail Sign Removal – Sat, April 20th

End of the season is here and that means it’s that time to collect signs from the trail system. This is one of the big jobs the club has to complete each year. We can always use more help with this type of effort and it’s a great opportunity to give back to your local snowmobile club and even meet some new friends. As we all know, many hands make light work.

If you can help, meet at Casey’s in Horace on Saturday, April 20th at 9:30am. If you have a 4-wheeler bring it as that can help expedite the process. If you have a small trailer bring it as it allows more groups to go out simultaneously.

We will be along roads so if you have fluorescent/high-vis clothing, wear it to increase safety. We will have some on-hand as well.

See you Saturday!!!

Club Meeting – Wed, April 3rd

Our next club meeting will be held on Wednesday April 3rd at 7pm at the Horace Fire Station.

We are at the end of a “memorable” snowmobile season. That is one way to look at it…memorable. 🙂 Regardless of snow and trail conditions during the season, the club always has a lot to get done to close the season out. The big items coming up are removal of trail signs, groomer storage and club board elections.

We will be conducting board elections during this next meeting. We are always looking for people to get involved and continue pushing the club forward with fresh energy and insights. Attending regular meetings is one way to help out but willingness to hold a board position is an even better way to support your local snowmobile club. Whether you are willing to step up to a board position or not, we hope you will join us and be part of the process.

Trail sign removal is a big effort every spring and yet another way to support the club. We are all volunteers, and it is certainly true that many hands make light work. Stay tuned for more information.

Club Meeting – Wed, Feb 7th

Our next club meeting will be held on Wednesday February 7th at 7pm at the Horace Fire Station.

So far this has been a season to forget. With any luck we will be able to salvage the last part of the season so don’t lose faith. We continue to stand at the ready to be able to take advantage of the snow when it comes.

Even with this version of “a crazy winter”, we hope you have or will take time to support the local businesses that support our club. Snow or not, they are there to support us and are part of making our local trail system possible. You can find these businesses on our trail map at https://snoriders.com/trail-map/.

Even though we are not riding yet, it’s still fun to meet other snowmobilers and talk about our shared passion for the sport. Hope to see you at the meeting.

Club Meeting – Wed, Jan 3rd

Our next club meeting will be held on Wednesday January 3rd at 7pm at the Horace Fire Station.

The good news is Santa brought a lot of precipitation for Christmas but the bad news is it was in the form of rain and ice so we are still awaiting enough snow to start to our trail season. We need to be able to create a 4″ base to start grooming operations and officially open the trails so keep up that snow dance. Back to some good news, the club, trail and grooming equipment are ready to go as soon as that elusive snow fall gets here.

Happy New Year to all. We look forward to seeing you at the club meeting Wednesday and on the trails very soon.

Kickoff Party Thanks

A huge THANK YOU to each these businesses who donated to our annual Kickoff Party event. It was a tremendous success that we could not have achieved without their generous support.

In turn, these businesses deserve our support. As you visit them, please be sure to say thanks for their support and positive impact on the local snowmobile trail system.

Club Meeting – Wed, Oct 4th

Autum is here which means a new snowmobile season is on the way. Our next club meeting will be held Wednesday, October 4th at 7pm at the Horace Fire Hall. We are already busy with pre-season functions including planning our annual kickoff party as well as preparing for new trail maps.

Our annual kickoff party is our primary fundraiser and membership drive for the club. Creating and maintaining a trail system throughout the riding season takes people and it takes funding. This event is about gaining both. So save the date and come join us. Better yet, come join us at our next meeting and see how easy it is to support your local snowmobile club. Hope to see you there.

Club Meeting – Wed, May 3rd

Once again, it’s time for our last meeting of the year. The meeting will be held at the Fire Hall in Horace at 7pm on Wed, May 3rd.

Our spring meetings always include tasks to close out the current season. For example, doing trail equipment maintenance, trail sign removal and general tasks like picking up banners from sponsors. But it is also when start the process of pre-planning for next season. For most, the snowmobile season is in the rearview mirror and quickly becomes out of mind. But if you think about it, now is actually the right time to start getting the club set up for success next season. To that end we want to again invite all area snowmobile enthusiasts and trail users to get involved by coming to a meeting. Come see what the club does to promote and enable snowmobiling and other community activities. Keep in mind our club meetings are a great way to meet other snowmobile enthusiasts. We are all volunteers in this endeavor but don’t worry, we don’t make anyone volunteer their time just because they show up. Your level of participation in helping your local snowmobile club is always up to you.

One special topic for this meeting will be club board elections. We have been going year by year with our board positions so it’s time to do it again so we can have the new board in place for continued pre-planning of tasks for next season. Being on the board is the ultimate way to get involved with your local snowmobile club. Hope you can join us and support the process.

We’ll see you there!!!
